Among the many programs available are a jiujitsu class through the After School Program and an Adopt a Highway initiative through the Leadership Officer Training Corps (LOTC) program. Campus initiatives include an Academic Advisory (AA) period that encompasses a mentoring component and the Targeted Academic Grouping (TAG) that helps ensure that all students reach their maximum potential. Technologically, MJMS is a “one to one” campus, and Epson projectors and interactive whiteboards further facilitate learning in the classrooms. -

Programs available for SBHS students include dual enrollment classes, an Advanced Placement (AP) program, a wide array of Career and Technical Education (CTE) opportunities, a College and Career Center, an Early College Academy, an extensive athletics program, and an award-winning Fine Arts program. Using professional learning communities, evaluating student attendance, and implementing advanced technological tools in the classrooms have been instrumental in preparing all students for post-secondary success.
According to Mrs. Solis, it’s the committed teachers, faculty, and parents as well as the students’ pride in their school and community that truly make San Benito High School unique. -
Campuses earn TEA Distinctions

Campus principals and staff members received awards for earning distinctions from the Texas Education Agency during the Back-to-School Convocation. Five campuses, including Fred Booth Elementary, La Paloma Elementary, Frank Roberts Elementary, Berta Cabaza Middle School and Veterans Memorial Academy earned one TEA distinction each; Judge Oscar De La Fuente Elementary, Dr. Raul Garza, Jr. STEAM Academy, and San Benito High School earned two TEA distinctions each; Rangerville Elementary earned four TEA distinctions; Ed Downs Elementary earned five TEA distinctions; and Dr. Cash Elementary earned six TEA distinctions.
